Basics Class

Emphasis on basic exercises, falling skills, principles, philosophy, and basic techniques. Recommended class for beginners. (Class open to ranked students wishing to review the basics.)

General Class

This class is for adult men and women. More vigorous in nature than the Basics class. Beginners are encouraged to participate in this class in addition to the Basics class at such time as they become comfortable with the basic falling skills.

Children's Class

Students 7-10 train from 3:20 to 4:20. Classes will be structured around development of balance, coordination and awareness of self.  Children in this age range have rapidly changing bodies.  We endeavor to help them learn about their strengths both physically and mentally.  Exercises and games will teach them team effort, conflict resolution and appropriate use of power through Aikido techniques.

Students 11 and older train from 4:30 to 5:30.  This program offers the same as mentioned above but at a more advanced skill level.  This age group has access to the Wednesday night adult basics class with instructor recommendation and parental approval.

Member parents and senior students are welcome to participate in all classes.

Sunday Weapons Class

All levels are welcome. This class offers instruction in the use of bokken (wooden sword), jo (wooden staff) and tanto (wooden knife). The dojo provides weapons for class use. Class material includes partnered practices, weapons taking and katas.
